We are proud of our Michigan based co-packer, Food for Thought.

Many people ask why we went all the way to Michigan to find a company to make and pack our products.

  • Food For Thought has always been housed in green structures and based on an organic farm. Its building is made from recycled materials and native Michigan wood. It's also built to American Lung Association Health House standards to maximize sustainability and indoor air quality.

  • Food for Thought strives to be a model of corporate responsibility that is expressed, in part, through an unwavering commitment to organic foods. Such a commitment has a direct and positive impact on the quality of and and water, and that's just the beginning. Please read their info on Organic Foods on the Food for Thought website.

  • Like Flavrz, Food for Thought donates a percentage of gross earnings to non-profit organizations that work to preserve and protect our human and natural environment.

  • Food for Thought encourages staff to take "paid volunteer days" when they can volunteer to work for a non-profit organization while still on the payroll.

There will always be more to do. Sustainability, after all, is a journey, not a destination. We're always looking to find ways to decrease our energy consumption, farm beyond organic, create fair trade with our next door neighbors, create more meaningful lives for our dedicated staff and all whose lives our company touches. We stumble, debate, work hard, learn from our experiences and accept our limitations. It's a lot to put into a jar.
